JOB DESCRIPTION

 

FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER/STAFF ACCOUNTANT

 

The Bookkeeper/staff accountant reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and performing general accounting functions, as required.  Knowledge of Sage 300 an asset.

 

The essential job duties shall include, but not limited to the following:

 

·         Full cycle A/R, including preparation of monthly invoices and maintaining customer and vendor records.

·         A/P including; purchase orders and vendor records maintenance

·         Multiple Bank reconciliations

·         Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries as needed

·         G/L maintenance

·         Prepare payroll

·         Payment of monthly payroll taxes

·         Preparation of monthly financial Statements

·         Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual program financial reports

·         Maintain program files and accounting files

·         Preparation of annual budgets and maintenance of budgets

·         Account for fixed assets

·         Prepare and monitor cash flows on a monthly basis

·         Attend monthly Board of Directors Meetings

·         Assist auditor

Perform other related duties as may be requested by the Executive Director

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting

·         Proficient in accounting software (3 years minimum experience)

·         Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

·         3 or more years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

·         Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

·         Highly organized and detail oriented

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of Authority

·         Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

·         Strong organizational skills

Experience for a not for profit accounting would be an asset.
